How to improve my CR and Writing scores?

My June SAT results(3rd time) are CR 570 Writing 610 Math 740.I want to improve my CR and Writing score to above 700(even above 650).I am an international student ,and English is my second language,I have done all my high school in my first language.I am going to take SAT this Oct.(for the last time). How can I improve my CR and Writing? What are the books that will help me?Is it possible to improve.?
I have a prefect high school record( all A's for GCE Advanced level(4 subjects) and 9 A's and only one B for GCE Ordinary Level),and I don't know why I can't perform well in SAT?
Please give me some advice

hey I’m also an international student who studied in my native language throughout high school. I also have difficulties with reading now. :frowning: You’re like…in the same situation with me.

I scored 690 in writing last time and my goal is to maintain a 700 in October. I think grammar is easy to improve if you check the Qs you’ve done wrong. See WHY you’re wrong. Most international students like us tend to have idiom problems. (at least for me.) So memorize them. You can find SAT idiom list on google I suppose.

As for the essay, you could consider language used I suppose. Find some tips online or in books. I think they might give better advice than me.

Good lucks on your test. ;)

Nice to meet someone like me,I really don’t have much extra curricular activities,so what do you think about it?Will it affect badly for my admission decision?

I personally think that extra activities are as important. Though SAT scores and GPA are the most essential factor, if you’re applying for top universities (which I believe you do because you’re not satisfied with your scores yet), extra curricular actually serves more vital because all the excellent students that are competing with you have same SAT scores and GPAs.

btw where are you from? :)

From Sri Lanka(you may never have heard about it).Where are you from?

Taiwan. Bet you might never heard of it too.
