How to make friends as a commuter?

<p>I'm a freshman commuter and have not made any close friends or friends yet during the month Ive been here. Im starting to get lonely. Im surrounded by thousands of kids but stil cant form a relationship with any of them. I've joined clubs but none have really led to a friendship. I dont know what to do. Any advice? Is it normal for commuters to struggle to make friends?</p>

<p>Is there a commuter lounge you could go to? It may be a good place just to meet fellow commuters. </p>

<p>What clubs have you joined? What about club sports? D1 is a senior and her closest friends (& most of her current roommates) are from her club sport. </p>

<p>Just note most of these meet later in the evening, so you will need to plan your schedule accordingly. </p>
