Paired passages can be a good thing for me because I did take the fsa( standardized test for Floridians) and it does have paired tests.
Their isnt really a trick to the passages, but just eeading them.
The only thing you need to be aware of is how to compare or contrast them. Passage 1 might say something and Passage 2 says the exact opposite. You need to know the differences between the two and you have to be able to answer questions on it.
The only other problem i can see is reading both passages under a time period, but hopefully their not that long .
If you are having provlems with time find a really good reading strategie amd praxtice it on practice tests
