How to protect progs/icons on TI-89 Titanium?

Hi. I just bought a TI-89 Titanium yesterday and spent 4 hours trying to figure out how to put progs/icons onto my calc today. Does anyone know how I can protect these progs/icons from being cleared? In other words, is there a method to keep it safe no matter how you clear the calc unless you break it?

I don't know... I wasn't able to figure out how to do much with mine... and I think I lost it when I took the SATs... so I'm going to have to buy a new one...

You can archive stuff. Go to Var-Link (2nd, minus or plus or times or division..or another button in that area) and then highlight the variable you want protected, press F4 (I think) to select and then select something else (I forget which but I think F1) and scroll down till it says Archive Variables or something to that end.

After I archive everything, it can't be deleted no mater what? What if someone goes to 2nd ---> MEM ---> F1 (RESET) ---> 3) All Memory.

Wouldn't this clear ALL MEMORY no matter what you do? Choice 1 says RAM (either All RAM or Default) and choice 2 says Flash ROM (either Archive or Flash Apps or Both). I am guessing that choice 3 (All memory) clears everything that both choice 1 and 2 clears, including archived files?

Yes, All Memory clears the everything including your archived files.

So there is no possible way to protect it? Sucks...

is that the best calculator on the market. I need to buy a graphing calculator now.
I want the best.

Yes. It should be the best.

With a TI-84+, the archive (ROM) does not clear after they 'clear' it. I'm pretty sure that there's a clear proof program out there for the Ti-89, you just need to look in Tical.org
