How to record a cd

Hi everybody,

I am thinking about sending in a music CD. I have been playing the piano for 13 years and I think I could come up with something. The problem is: how do I record a CD? What do I need in order to do so? What is the common way to do it?

Thanks.

you could call in a recorder to do the job at home with your piano, if one is available. or if you could find a clavinovna on which you can record what you play...or if you have audio recording equipment/software, you could stream the audio to your pc and create your cd. or go to a studio....

...im may also send in a cd. there's a studio at the college of music here, where i can play/record/and get a CD...

btw, what pieces are you thinking of including in your cd? i'm thinking a p&fugue/haydn divertimento/a chopin noct....

...that's if i send in a Cd cos i think the deadline for most is dec15, and don't know if it'll be possible.

My son used a software product called Cakewalk (the version he used cost about $50 or so) and a microphone he already had to record on our computer. He then copied to CDs, and used a product called Media Face to make labels for the CD. The quality wasn't that of a recording studio (and our piano needed to be tuned!) but it did demonstrate his level of accomplishment on the two instruments he plays.

I went to a local studio that my teacher uses.
