How to send essay S for admission

I am an international student applying to UT as a freshman. I have already submitted my ApplyTexas application with essay C, and I have uploaded on the Document uploading system my recommendations, transcripts and a resume. However I don't understand how to send essay S, because on the uploading system I can only select to upload resumes or recommendations. What should I do?

There should be an option in the drop down menu to submit freshman essays, and from there, just select that you’re submitting Topic S.

That’s the point, there’s not. Do you think I should send it as another resume?

Hi, my D submitted her Essay S through this website: http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/submit

Here are the instructions for essays:

Preferred method: Online at ApplyTexas
Submitting essays thru ApplyTexas after submitting your app

To submit essays through ApplyTexas after you’ve submitted your ApplyTexas app, log in to ApplyTexas; click the “My Essays” tab at the top of the page; follow the instructions on the site.

Freshman applicants CANNOT submit Essay S through ApplyTexas. See “Other submission options” for information about submitting Essay S.

Instructions for Essay S:

Uploading your essays: All essays can be submitted through UT Austin’s Document Upload System. This is the preferred submission method for Essay S, the freshman special circumstances essay.

Other submission option: Mail printed copies to the Office of Admissions.

See if these instructions work for you. Good luck.

When I click on the link to the upload system, it sends me to a page where I can upload two types of documents: recommendations or resumes, but there’s not essay between the options. Do you think its ok if i submit it as another resume?

I’m sorry, I honestly don’t understand the problem. All I know is that my D submitted without difficulty. All I can suggest at this point is that you contact UT directly by phone or email as the app deadline has passed and you may want your essay submitted very soon after.

If you decide to submit as another resume, I assume that the essay will get to UT also but there is specifically a way to submit Essay S. You should use that.

I just checked by asking my D to log in to the system. After you sign in with your UT-EID, the “Application Document Upload” page allows you to select “Freshman Essay.”

Also, at this juncture, perhaps you should just proceed with mailing a copy of your Essay S, along with your UT-EID number to the address for UT. It can’t hurt and it might ease your stress.
