Can anyone help me with this prompt.. I dont know how to start off, or do anything.. for it.. but I want to do it.

Beyond your impressive academic credentials and extracurricular accomplishments, what else makes you unique and colorful? Provide us with some limited measure of your personality. We know that nobody fits neatly into 500 words or less, but you can provide us with some suggestion of The Type of Person You Are. Anything goes! Inspire us, impress us or just make us laugh. Think of this optional opportunity as Show and Tell by proxy and with an attitude.

I definately think you should focus on one incident in your life where you were unique or different.

If my DS had to write a response to this he would probably write about how in ninth grade he climbed on the roof of his school and built a snowman, and how the following year he hung Christmas lights. He always got caught, but he always felt he was contributing to the "holiday spirit. He would also be able to carry this over in a different direction, since he loves to climb out on the roof from his bedroom window and does his best thinking out there (much to my dismay - since he does this in the middle of the night.) I think he would have to leave out the part about jumping out of his school’s second story window the last day of school last year - even though the principal just called laughing and checking to see if he was OK. (Actually, he also jumped out of his bedroom window when he was 2 and ended up hospitalized for 2 weeks)

Now I’m a little depressed that he finished his essays - I think this may have been a good idea.

Anyway, you could write about a favorite piece of clothing (lucky hat, shirt?) or a possession you’ve kept in your room since you were little. Everyone has something unique about them, you just have to really think hard. If you have some ideas, post them and we can all comment. Or, tell us a little about yourself and maybe we can come up something. Happy Thanksgiving and good luck.

Hello! Thanks for responding. I really do need all the help I can get :(

I thought of one possible topic so far… but can you guys tell me what you think.

I’m the mayor of my community (I live on a military base overseas) and have great responsibility. One day, there was a severe fight that broke out among 10 children, that were only 3 years younger than me, and a distraught mother came to me, seeking help. I have a reputation of being a master at persuasion and “diplomacy”, and have been engaged with hundreds of families within my neighborhood… When I ran over to the court… it seemed as though my persuasion was hopeless, but I started to talk sense in them, and managed to end it peacefully.

Is this not good? Im still thinking, and will sleep on it, but can anyone give me feedback on this one? Thanks!

I think being the “master of persuasion and diplomacy” is a good idea, but do you have any better stories to back it up? I’m not sure that intervening in a fight between 10 young children is persuasive enough.
