How to Study for my APUSH Semester Final

So, I have an A right now, a 94%. I just read on my teacher's webpage that in order to maintain my A, I have to at least score a "3" on his final exam. He's going to grade the test by using the AP grading system of 1-5. And that made me really anxious :(
I don't know how study 24 chapters and be able to absorb all the information like a sponge :'(
I already forgot all the things we learned these past months. I feel so overwhelmed that I don't know where to start...and our final is in less than 2 weeks! For the people who already took or taking APUSH, how would you study for this? Please! Help!

Please, anyone? Any tips are deeply appreciated!

Obviously no use trying to reread every chapter, so I’d recommend looking over all of your notes, especially unit outlines and review worksheets. Once you’ve done that, depending on how comfortable you are with the material, spend 1-3 days (as in 6+ hours each) at your local Barnes & Noble. Go to the AP review books section and pick up every APUSH book they have. Read all the relevant chapters in all of the books, and skim the practice questions at the end of each chapter. This strategy will allow you to see the material in a variety of formats and phrasings, and that’s something that makes it stick. Lastly, get a hold of any released AP exams you can find and do all the questions involving material you’ve already covered.

I would also recommend that after you’ve reviewed a key subject period (like the Civil War and the events leading up to it) try to do some practice FRQs on it, without cheating. Then go back and make note of what you could have included (more specific dates, etc.)

I used this site:
USQuizMainPAge[/url”>USQuizMainPAge]USQuizMainPAge
to practice for the AP exam. It uses all old AP questions, and is categorized by topics.

Make sure you have your FRQ and DBQ down instead of worrying about absorbing every fact. Otherwise flashcards are your friend. My APUSH teacher from last year (one of the best teachers in our school) posted review videos of every unit on youtube. It really helped all of the kids in my class with the older units. If you want the link feel to PM me.

I read through all of the chapter summaries on Coursenotes for our textbook (American Pageant) and I really focused on the terms that my teacher gives us for every unit. Also ask if you can see your old tests, because half of the questions on my final were from old tests, so it was rather easy.

I read through Princeton review for every test up until March or April. I started at the beginning and read through the book until I got to where the test stopped covering the information. By March, I knew all the past info really well so I just read the new stuff covered on the test. I finished with a 96% and a 5

Hi there,

I think you’ll be fine. Basically the only way you’ll lose your A is if you get an equivalent score of a 1 or 2 on the final, right? If you have an A in the class, you probably know enough to pull off a passing grade on the mock AP, even if you don’t feel that way now! I took the AP this May cold and I did fine, haha. The grading requirements for a 3+ are pretty generous.

Good luck!
