How does one go about studying for the SAT 1 Test?

My counselor told me to take it in June(As a Freshman) but I really don't think I'm ready. On my last practice test I got 2170, but I studied for two day ahead of time via these "Prep" books my counselor gave me.

Examine your mistakes, and try not to make those mistakes again. That's how to improve. 2170 is a good score. The wrong way to go about studying is to read a bunch of prep books. You should examine mistakes and avoid making the mistakes. This can be done in numerous ways, for example learning more vocabulary, learning certain rules of English grammar, learning critical reading skills, and learning tips on math problems.

With a 2170 as a practice score as a Freshman, you're all set, though I don't know why your counselor wants you to take it this year. Are you planning on an early graduation? Colleges will be more interested in your Junior SAT scores if you plan on applying after the full four years. Ask your counselor why so soon.

I have no idea why my counselor wants me o take it in June. I'm not planning on graduating early, but he says it will look better on a college application.

I just get as many practice tests as i can and usually work the last 10 problems in each section, since those are the harder ones. However i always do the first ones afterward just to practice on not making careless mistakes.
