How was I not at least deferred (at Wharton)?

Not to be a jerk but:
You don’t have a passion for business, you have a passion for making tons of money, just like the rest of us.
I think it’s crazy for a college to make a person decide to apply to a business school and commit to it without having taken a single college class. Kids change, and Wharton is an arrogant institution. You are a very strong applicant, and I am sure you will be accepted somewhere great, but having an attitude of self entitlement doesn’t help anything. So you didn’t get into wharton, screw them. Make millions of dollars anyway and then shove it in their face. The man makes the man, not the school.
Besides, penn is too big on legacies and other dumb stuff. You can do business without applying to business school.
And the worst is when kids say: i can’t believe I wasnt accepted, i love it so much.
Oh boo hoo. You got rejected, it sucks, move on like the rest of us.
And i didnt even apply to penn

Sorry guys, I’m just afraid that there might be some fatal flaw in my common app that I wasn’t aware of. That’s why I wanted to ask you all about it. I still thought it was weird that I wasn’t even deferred.

i understand i was rejected too and was quite disappointed. and to the people intent on bashing this fellow, you have to realize it really sucks getting rejected when you very well had a good shot. its not about a sense of entitlement, its just hard. having said that, its time for all of us rejected to get on with our lives

Completely agreed. You have good test scores and great GPA; however, nothing stands out. I don’t see a reason for Wharton to say “I need this kid!”. Good luck with the rest of your applications.
