How Well Do Regents/Regular Courses Prepare You For College?

I know kids who went to college with B’s and C’s in Regents classes. This is really sad.

Regents kids in my class, including me, just love it when we get all A’s in our classes. But since I hang out on CC, and even if I didn’t, since I realize the truth, getting an A in Regents is not impressive.

It’s even sadder to know kids who failed regents multiple times. I have no idea whatsoever.

lol, last year a good percentage of the kids at my school failed the chem regents…

^Doesn’t matter. If you laugh at them, they’ll still be deadheads with inflated ego acting like they’re super smart and how the teachers were unfair, blah blah blah.

^haha, I wasn’t actually laughing at the people who failed the regents. I’m laughing because everyone assumes that the regents is easy, while I happen to know so many people who, not necessarily fails the regents, but at least worries about failing the regents.

As easy as Regents may be, they can’t be easier than FCAT.

<as easy=“” as=“” regents=“” may=“” be,=“” they=“” can’t=“” be=“” easier=“” than=“” fcat.=“”> FCAT is the best definition of BS, seriously. Meant to f up people’s lives and make them take intensive classes. Like their transcript is not bad enough already, and you give them an “I suck” class for colleges to see?</as>

I have an “honors” that is filled with regular students, and for the most part I’ve noticed that most of them aren’t well prepared at all. Taking notes for more than 30 minutes seems to be a difficult task for most of them. I’d even go as far as to say most Honors classes don’t even prepare you for college, AP gets you used to studying for long hours and knowing how to balance school and friends

Last semester, I took Criminal Justice as a filler class. It was filled (95%) mostly with regular students. Whenever we took notes, they complained. Most of the time, the notes were roughly a paragraph. Heaven forbid it was more than that! Compare this to my AP Euro class, where we take 3-4 pages of notes per day. =)

Yes, it is a public school. Probably one of the best public schools in the state. Each student is required to take at least 1 IB class and at least 3 AP classes, the vast majority take much more.
lol wow you’ve actually heard of it, I’m impressed-I don’t know about any other schools in NYS save for Stuyvesant and the like.

So you go to City Honors? Awesome. Ever heard of Grover Cleveland and Bennett? Aren’t they in Buffalo, too? I don’t think there are any Lasallian schools in your area. Is there? It’s because I go to a Lasallian school here in Syracuse.

Yes and yes to both your questions.
Grover is our rival in soccer, but not academically lmao.
I have a few friends at Bennett. That’s not a particularly stellar school either.
I’m not sure what a Lasallian school is.
