How well do students at non-American schools do at getting recruited by NYC i-banks?

Such as Australian National University?

PhDs and UK colleges are extensively recruited. Asian math/ EE/ CS majors as well.

Im not sure if you use the British system in your country, but my guess is that you would need at least a second class upper to be considered for an interview.

if you're not an US citizen it's going to be hard because of visa issues and stuff

I think it's possible to get recruited into the NYC bank's branch in the country you got your undergrad

i think it will be hard to get an analyst position straight out of undergrad cuz of visa issues. However, if you're applying for quant positions after finishing your graduate degree, the chances are MUCH better because most quant finance programs are filled with almost exclusively foreign students and almost all of them get sponsored for visas in american I banks in NYC. They're not investment bankers thought. They get quantitative jobs in S&T. Also, there is a separate quota of 20000 working visas for graduate degrees earned in the US.
