How well does the SAT correlate to class rank with your class?

The thing about people who won't tell is that they create 10 times as much interest in their scores than if they just came out and admitted whatever it is that they got. The valedictorian of my school (who I know pretty well--tons of classes together--and is not a shy guy) didn't want to tell anyone outside his little circle of close friends what his EA decision from MIT was. Which only made everyone a million times more interested! Of course, it came out eventually (he was deferred) and it really wasn't a big deal at all. Most people are like kamikazewave--they joke around about their missteps.

one of our valedictorians has a 1600 =/, another an 1800

at my school, people in the bottom half of the class often have 2000+ scores.

I can’t believe you all actually know – and remember – all of those scores! The only way I know where my score is in relation to the rest of my class is from what my guidance counselor told me…

I’m #12 (=[) and was told that I have “the highest test scores [my guidance counselor] have seen in a long time.”

My school is really into grade inflation. And hates weighting. AKA my school hates me.
