Say your currently a sophomore, and you want to start planning some unique ideas for our essays. If your going to apply to several different colleges when your a senior, is it possible to start thinking about essay responses?

Are the essay questions the same every year? I think some require specific questions, like for ex. Why do you want to go to Stanford? '

^Way too early for your essay man. If you have extra time, start studying for the SAT or ACT. Or more importantly, focus on your grades. If that doesn’t rock your boat, then join some new EC’s or focus more on your current EC’s.

Second what the RAD said. But if you have the free time :] from school work and preps (and personal life as well!!!), I’d recommend going through CC to look at threads.

A good site to read about is definitely the MIT’s admission blog.
There the admission staff (students and full-time staff) are engaged in writing about the admission to MIT. You will get a lot of tips about how to write a great college essay even if you are not interested in MIT at all.

It’s a great idea to think about these things now- who knows when you’ll get inspired? Just, as ^, don’t get overwhelmed. Keep notes, just a line, as you think of something. There is usually some sort of “Why us?” for many schools. Even if one drops the ques, you’ll be ready to show enthusiasm. And, watch out that CC doesn’t make you nervous. Take some of the good advice (especially lately, about Stanford wanting to see your passion) and then get back to today’s priorities.

It’s just that whenever an idea that pops up in the middle of the day I write down a few words about it as one of my topics on the computer just incase my mind goes blank senior year. Not a whole lot of time into it.

But would the prompts change every year? I would think so…just making sure. :)
