How would you define "top college"?

How is that the reality?

Because listing SM twice is redundant??

You don’t attend HYPSM + C, do you??

So whether I attend those schools or not determines whether or not HYPSM + C are the only top colleges there are?

Lol what’s next, “You don’t attend Brown, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Emory, Dartmouth, UChicago, etc., do you?”

prodigalson:

You totally missed the point of my note. Please think a little before you jump on others. So I will spell it out for you and other slow learners.

The USN&WR’s list of “Top Colleges” does not list Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, MIT and whatever the previous poster meant by SM. I wonder why?

(Hint: maybe because they are not “colleges” but “universities”)

Do you teach your ConCerndFamily to passive-aggressively attack other people???

Oh, by the way, sorry you and your kid(s) didn’t get into HYPSM…

No, because the latter are not universally recognized as “top colleges”…

prodigalson: I did get into and graduated from HYPSM. What’s your excuse?

<no, because=“” the=“” latter=“” are=“” not=“” universally=“” recognized=“” as=“” “top=”" colleges"…=“”></no,>

Ahh… Now I know why you left Oxford and Cambridge out of the picture.

I currently attend so have yet to graduate…

Too bad your kid(s) couldn’t get in despite legacy status. Is this why you are so ConCernd??

Oxbridge is not as selective as HYPSM and arguably no longer as prestigious…

Kid had no interest in them – too big, Prof’s don’t care. Classes too big. Kids get lost in the shuffle.

Sour grapes…

prodigalson: For an 18 year old (as you claim to be), you certainly profess to know an awful lot about everything – US universities, US colleges, UK universities. Either you are not 18 years old, or you know nothing about anything. If you are 18, why are you not in school at 3PM East Coast US time? Are you even in the US? Your view of the US are certainly not consistent with being from the US. You have been outed.

Also, all of your posts are exceedingly nasty. All you do is try to pick fights with everyone. Stop, or go away.

I accept your concession…

No concession. My kid was accepted early decision. However, I guess I was right about you on all counts. Thanks for the concession.

And at 18, you are likely not even in college yet. And likely not accepted anywhere yet.

You should think about going to law school and pursue a career in litigation at a BigLawFirm. You would fit right in.

Nice try. HYPSM doesn’t offer early DECISION!

I am starting to doubt that you went to any one of these schools…

I am a first-year student. If you want proof, feel free to PM me and I’d be glad to email you from my school account.

You should read more carefully. Good luck to you in April when the thin and thick letters come out. In the mean time, go back to school, and hit the books. And work a bit more on your manners.

If you really are in college (yeah, right), get some work done rather than pester people here. If you are a frosh, how can you possilbly know what you profess to know? Go away, ■■■■■. Come back when you have learned and experienced something. Until then, read, do not contribute here.

I don’t need luck since I’m already in. But thanks for your ConCern…

I read and learn…

Prodigalson, get over yourself. It doesn’t “end at HYPSM” simply because you attend one of those five schools. For someone dying to get in to finance, Wharton beats HYPSM any day. For someone interested in eventually becoming an econ PhD, Chicago is arguably a better choice than HYPSM as well. Dartmouth may well be the best choice for someone interested in having fun. And Columbia(CC not Fu) enrolls plenty of HYPSM acceptees year after year.

If you think you’ve accomplished anything of substance or of relevance to the wider world by getting in to a certain college, you’re wrong. No one cares but you and your mom/dad.
