How would you feel about this

How would you feel if you bought a elite college's t-shirt and wore it often, and got attached to the school somewhat, and found out that you got rejected in April? lol Because I'm doing that.

This is why I didn't buy any shirts except from the alma mater I was applying to (between my two parents there are 6 schools that I have legacy for) and the local StateU. I got into the alma mater so it all worked out well in the end. Actually, if you are attached to the shirt, it means that is the school for you, so that means no real decision to make in April when you get in.

I'm afraid to buy any college clothing because I'd feel retarded if I didn't get in.

I do have a columbia sweatshirt from spending my summer there. I don't think I'll be applying for college there, though, so it's okay.

you can always burn the shirt and feel like you paid the school back for the rejection.

....that is a waste of money and a good shirt though.

I don't understand why people wear college paraphernalia at all, unless they're a student or graduate of that school.

I have a crap load of college clothes, all from friends that go there. I absolutely love my Dartmouth sweatshirt, and I still wear it a lot, even though I was rejected back in December. It's a perfectly good sweatshirt, I'd hate to see it go to waste.

But now, I'm so superstitious that I haven't bought or worn clothes from colleges that I applied to and haven't heard from. I don't wanna jinx it. lol

Yah, I would feel pretty bad if I got rejected from a school that I had been wearing a shirt from.

That was my concern when I bought my first (and only) college sweatshirt last April when I visited for the first time. But my dad said it would be "for luck." It was rather expensive for a sweatshirt, but I love it, and I think I would've kept on wearing it had I been rejected. But I wasn't (thank goodness).

Why would you wear a college shirt if you have no relation to the college other than that you applied? That's just stupid.

Because someone gave it to you, it would be just stupid not to wear it

I'll probably give it to my dad or my mom. xD Be like "XD YAY MOM/DAD YOU WENT TO (College Name) =] Congrats!" ^_^

I was referring to what the OP said, as in, buying the shirt of a college you applied to and wearing that. I wasn't talking about receiving the shirt as a gift.

My bad .

I agree. I also didn't buy anything from the colleges I'm applying to for fear of jinxing it, even though I'm not at all a superstitious person. The closest I got was an orange mug that my dad bought at Small World Coffee in Princeton with the name, logo, and "Princeton" (the town, not the university!) on it in black. I'm oddly attached to it, but I still feel a bit nervous when I use it.

I'm ridiculous.

I bought a $50 jacket from a certain university that (I was interested at the time) but later was not. Oh my the numerous things I could have bought with $50 dollars.

I guess I shouldn't have bought the shirt lol. I'm not superstitious, but just to be safe I shouldn't wear it.
