How would you feel if your child went to a school like this?

I don’t think anyone should be tracked to early. As a high school sophomore I was confident I would go into engineering. As a junior I decided I would be an English major. I would be fairly surprised if I never change my major in college.

Don’t agree with so many languages at such a young age. The “core languages,” sure, one of those can be started early, but teaching young kids a bunch of languages before they have any chance to even begin to master one isn’t going to work. People who want to learn more languages will have opportunities to do so later.

Dunno about patriotism. I enjoyed my high school US History class far more than previous classes because it covered everything–and you do earn the valuable perspective that the US has had a disgusting past and present. Patriotism is important, but it should not supersede critical thinking about institutions that you’d otherwise take for granted. There is a good idea behind the US that can be emphasized, hopefully encouraging people to contribute to the correction of its faults, but I certainly don’t think that US schooling would be taking the right course to assert further its supposed grandeur.
