@kastogaro i havent received my financial aid information either.
Is WES evaluation mandatory for international students if the transcript is in english language???Can TOEFL score be submitted via counselor???
@gawgawn No I had tried that, but no use.
You have to send the WES evaluation even if your transcripts are in English and the TOEFL scores need to be sent by the testing agency.
Hi.
I’m an international student. It’s been a week since I received my acceptance email from Howard. The admission committee had informed me that I will be receiving an email from the financial aid office regarding the aid details. But I have still not received any such email and now I’m extremely worried.
Can anyone help me out? Is this something normal?
@Fanthomperson I’m an international student too and I received my acceptance email about 10 days back, but still havent heard anything regarding financial aid from Howard as of late.
@neilind I was accepted without the TOEFL score and WES evaluation. Do you think they will ask for it for i-20?
@BHCHGYH Yes! I called up yesterday! They said that until and unless international applicants send the WES evaluation and the TOEFL( IELTS in my case) , they won’t sent the I20.
Now, I have arrange for that to be sent.
@neilind did they ask you after scholarship decision was made??which country do u belong to???
What is the scholarship amount for u??
Any international student been mailed the I20?
it’s been more than 2 weeks since i got my acceptance from Howard but i still haven’t received any information regarding my scholarships.
@mandhu71 I think it’s time for you (and everyone else without a financial aid decision) to call and not stop until you get an answer.
National Decision Day (May 1st) is in 2 weeks and this is unacceptable.
Has anyone received their acceptance packet in the mail yet??
Also, has any international student received their I-20 form?
@BriGrey24 I am very sorry that you were rejected. My understanding is that HU has been beyond flooded with applicants again this year…record number. They have to strike a balance with who they accept, I imagine, across lines of varied majors, geographic diversity, gender, scholars, athletes, artists, first generation, legacy kids, etc. (as all schools do but HBCUs have a service oriented mission couples with financial constraints that tend to add to the complexity). They are also way under staffed in the midst of major transitions under the relatively new president who is cleaning house and re-doing the administration.
Go ahead and appeal and indicate ‘why HU’ specifically. If you want to be there, keep pressing.
For so many of you waiting on FA information, how frustrating I am sure! I hope that eventually the house cleaning will lead to much better/timely information. Good luck to you all!
Thanks so much for your help @ReturningFavor
@mandhu71 have you got any response from the financial aid office yet?
