Hello I am going to apply to Howard this year but I am concerned about financial aid and scholarships. Can anyone tell me if Howard actually award good financial aid packages and scholarships? Thank you.

[Grants, Scholarships & Fellowships - Howard University](http://www.howard.edu/financialaid/grants_scholarships.htm#Freshman)

Thank you, but I already knew about the actual Howard website. I was curious to see if any of you’ll actually got a good financial aid and scholarship award from the University.

Not sure what you are asking then. My kid is in her 2nd year as a Laureate Scholar. It’s working out well. Very well, indeed.

Tuition, room, meals, books and fees all paid for by the University.

I am also aware of kids who have a combination of scholarships and grants. The kid’s room mate is covered by athletic and academic scholarships.

When she went to move in, the school had a reception for scholarship recipients. There were quite a few students there. I think I estimated around 300-350 students who had some sort of merit scholarship.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much. I appreciate the information you told me. I was just curious to see the real life examples of students who actually got an award package like your child. I am please that you said it was a pretty good package b/c i was just curious to see for example if your child had to take out any loans to go to Howard or if all of it was covered. Thanks again Howard is top on my list that’s why I was curious.

I’ve applied to this school, but I can’t get through on phone or email to their admissions staff does anyone have some ideas? It seems like they don’t want to pick up the phone or respond to emails. Has anyone else had their application marked incomplete when it really isn’t? I’m wondering if I should just call them daily until someone picks up the phone in admissions. I want to ask them about my app status.

My application is saying incomplete for my transcript, but my school mailed it in with my other choices which has recieved it, and the school have since faxed it. I spoke with admissions and they said that documents were being updated as they recieve them. I don’t know whats going on but I hope they update my status soon.

Keep calling. Call every number you can find. Get a name and keep that contact.

Once I had a contact person, I kept her number by the phone.

Also, this is the 1st week of classes, so it’s rather busy with the students registering and dealing with financial aid. The admin offices will be less busy in another week or so. It will then be easier to contact someone.

Good luck.

I got accepted to the Mecca!! as a sophomore transfer I am too excited, I read congratulations on your acceptance over and over lol…Any psychology majors on here???
