How's the party scene in Dartmouth compared to other Ivies?

Title question. Thanks

I think it has the largest party scene of the Ivies because of the large frat/sorority presence.

In my opinion its the best party scene. Its among the three largest campus scenes (along with Princeton and Penn), but Dartmouth has the largest percentage of social students on campus. Also Dartmouth is more inclusive, friendly, and open than the other Ivies - i.e. everyone is invited and encouraged to hang out everywhere. You don't see "lists" to get in places and charging at parties like I've seen at Penn. Its a great scene.

Can you say Animal House?

I just about fell off my chair. It's, ummmm, very good to say the least by all accounts.

When you think of DisneyWorld/Land you picture Mickey. When you think of Dartmouth (at least for some), you may think of one thing that others envy so much that theft from the Green is committed (Dartmouth is just a fun place with a really cool student body who are smart, but not arrogant and don't take themselves too seriously as can be seen, in part, by the links):

i heard about a double shot glass they made that had "HARVARD" at the half-shot line, "YALE" at the one shot, "PRINCETON" at the one and a half and "DARTMOUTH" at the top.

if that helps

Haha i have one of those. Its a beer mug...seriously though I think the best part about Dartmouth socially is it has a strong social scene but also has that friendly LACy community.

Wow, I've never wanted anything more. Where can one get this shot glass/ beer mug?

^ I want to know too

I bought mine at the coop...

No question. Dartmouth has the best party scene among the Ivies. It is a point of pride.

Even better than Cornell?

Yeah way better. Cornell is fun but you have around 25%-30% of the student population going out. At Dartmouth its more like 70% and its much more inclusive. While Dartmouth "appears" to be very fratty, in a way because of its openness many of the negatives of a frat culture (people are cliquey, won't let others into parties) are much less prevalent.

An outstanding scene. Just this alone is a strong selling point for Dartmouth.

Dartmouth is the most laid back of the Ivies, and the students are the happiest IMHO. If you don't like the outdoors and prefer the big city though, it may not be for you.
