so 16-17 units = too much for freshmen?

i seriously think no freshman should start out with over 15 credits, regardless of major. college is a HUGE transition. where i go to school, freshman all have pass/fail for their first semester and are STRONGLY encouraged to only take four classes. they absolutely cannot takem ore than five. everyone makes up for it in time, even if they’re pre-med (though we don’t have many here) or engineering majors…it’s really a great idea to leave some time to make friends, get adjusted to being all on your own, and acclimating at your new school in general. don’t listen to these punks who tell you that you need to beat the crap out of yourself from day one. you’re going to be miserable, tired and locked away in the library all day while everyone else is out enjoying the newness of college life.

well it’s nice to see my old thread. 15 credit hrs 1st semester was pretty easy cuz the classes were easy. I took 18 hrs this semester, and it was also manageable.
blueducky, 16-17 hrs should be fine.

Kind of random, but how many introduction classes do you recommend for freshman year? Seems like you could cram in quite a lot but I really wouldn’t know…
