HPYS = Hogwarts?

Ravenclaws aren't necessarily nerds so let's keep them Yalies.

Brown is defintely Hufflepuffs. I'm sorrry, but HPs have no role. They are nothing... just a bunch of boring people.

With the popularity of "Which school is most like Hogwarts" thread, I thought I should bring up this thread.

of course USC has the gryffindore harry potter scarves at the book store (i own one!) since the USC colors are closest to gryffindore's......so i always included SC in my harry potter analogy.......especailly what with the fierce sports competition held in the colesium.

I would much like to see a USC/UCLA quittich game in the Colliseum or the rose bowl.

I bet you picked Harvard = Gryffindore b/c of the color schemes! booo

Well if Stanford is really considered to be Hufflepuff, wish me luck im finishing up my application and sending it out tommorrow........

I would say that USC is Gryffindor because you have to be quite smart to get in (although its not quite as academically challenging as the ivy's) and the sports scene just says 'Gryffindor' to me. Duke also fits into this category fo the same reasons. I'd put all the top notch athletic/academic powerhouses here.

I would say the ivy's are all Ravenclaw. (And Stanford, MIT). Also, Top LAC's like Wellesley, etc.

All the other Liberal Arts Colleges are Hufflepuff because of the small, friendly, atmosphere.

Cut throat schools like NYU are Slytherin (I'm not saying this as a mean thing... don't get offended anyone! I applied there!) I'd also put a few of the large state schools in this category.

I love Harry Potter!

Slytherin Pride!

Caltech/MIT is the outside world of the hogwarts, i.e. the real, practical world, the world where Harry Potter lives with his step parents.

This is such a cute theory.. I got a really good chuckle out of it. ::sighs happily:: Harry Potter fans unite!

Item no. 201 of "How to know you're focusing on college admissions too much." :: You start drawing parallels to colleges and real life/history/literature.

In light of that, what fast food resturaunts would HYPS be?

I don't agree with Stanford as Hufflepuff. 'puff is about "taking all the rest" -- it's explicitly the house for students who don't get sorted into other houses. It's the unselective house. That's not Stanford at all.

Yeah for Slytherin Princeton!

Funny thing is, my favorite character has always been Snape. :)

I just want to see the golden snitch.

Yeah thats an awesome analogy..Im more of a Gryffindor anyway..I like to be the good guy.

This thread is so insightful. Bumppin

Hahaha this thread is awesome.

Harvard - Gryffindor
Yale - Ravenclaw
Stanford - Gryffindor with a little Hufflepuff
Princeton - Slytherin

Columbia - Gryffindor! They’re both Lions haha
MIT - Ravenclaw because we’re awesome.
Penn - Hufflepuff :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Duke - Slytherin for the competitive sports and academic rivalry against Harvard. Even though Harvard, the Griffindor, beats them :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Brown - Hufflepuff Carefree and open curriculum? I think of floaty and hippy things when it comes to Hufflepuff.
Dartmouth - Slytherin because they are GREEN
Northwestern - Ravenclaw…‘stern’ and ‘Raven’ sound synonymous.

WUSTL should be in there somewhere. Also, Brown is Gryffindor, since Hermione (Emma Watson) goes there.
