i know these are annoying but i would really appreciate it.
- GPA: 4.0 UW
- senior year courseload: i already know that i'll be taking multivariable calculus (taking ap calc bc in my junior year), ap physics c, mentorship, english 12 ap, us gov and politics ap, medical terminology (i have to take a 'career' course at my home school to graduate), and ap psych.
- a quick note- i attend one of my state's very selective governor's schools for half the day. it's a research school. in january, we take no math or science classes, and just do our elective and work on research projects. that's what i meant by mentorship- i'll be working with local grad students (i believe) on a high level research project. i snagged one of two available spots for my county, which i think will look good on applications.
- sat: 1340 superscore 660M/680R- i've only taken practice tests and am taking the sat on nov. 1. if i don't get above a 1450 i'll likely take it again in the spring.
major awards: girl scout silver award, currently working on my girl scout gold award. am also currently writing a philosophy book that i plan on getting published before i graduate.
extracurriculars:
girl scout age 5-present
volunteer at local animal shelter
key club
plan on joining nhs next year
i really wanted to form a physics club at my home school, but it’s very rural and most students here aren’t interested in math/science. i’m gonna put up flyers asking if anyone would be interested for next year and if so i’ll start one, but there probably won’t be any.
gs camp counselor for two years
gender: female
race: white
income bracket: ~120k/year
schools list:
swarthmore, carnegie mellon, uva (has a 100% acceptance rate for kids from my governor’s school), colgate
planned major: astrophysics, really want a minor in peace & conflict studies as well. swarthmore is my dream school.
i know i need to improve my sat score, but other than that what do you guys think? obviously i hope to place at the state science fair this year/next year, so i’ll update this thread probably if that happens.
