My dad is a lawyer and my stepmom is a stay-at-home mom.

You do need a business degree because you hire the architects, construction companies, and you have to get banks to finance the project. you dont need a degree in architecture or w/e. you go to business school and then become one. im not sure if a M.A. is necessary. unless you want to.

Jim, so an MBA from what university would help you with that?

I've wondered the same thing for ages... lol

A couple of miles from my home there are these gigantic "Starting from 4 million!" dollar houses (as if that was a bargain)

And yeah, they are out of a dream. I always had this huge urge to knock on each door and ask: "Excuse me sir, mam, what do you do?" 'cause like someone else said, alot of doctors own 1,000,000 - houses, but not ones "starting from 4 million!"

I suppose you have to work in some area of business or politics. Which is why Im going into Finance. :)

er, well, our house is in a gated community in SoCal right now, and our neighbors are all dual doctor/surgeon households, real estate "house flippers" (there's a lot of that in orange county), i-bankers, and old rich families.
