I am wondering if there is anyone out here actually at SCU right now. I have tried for months to get ahold of Ingrid Williams in Human Resources to find out about the tuition exchange program. I have left numerous messages, phone and email, to no avail.

My hs jr. S would seriously like to consider SCU for computer science, but I need to find out some information on the tuition exchange program. If anyone knows of anyone else I can contact, please let me know.

I'm about at the point of telling him SCU is a no-go if key personnel are this non-responsive.

Yes. I finally got ahold of someone at SCU HR yesterday. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to answer my question. Apparently, Ingrid is the only one there with that information and she hasn’t returned a call from me or an email in months.

Next school year you (or your husband) should be asked by the university you work for if you and your son want to participate in tuition exchange. Spots are limited for the program and if you get in spots are limited for the schools. He has to apply by the early action deadline and if your S gets TE for SCU, then he should get 31,000 towards tuition.

Thank you Lynnmarie. I know pretty well how the exchanges work, but I was looking for more school specific information. The other schools in which my S is interested were easy to contact and get answers from. SCU has been quite a challenge. I really would like to know the # of kids who apply for the TE scholarship, of those - how many are accepted to SCU, and then, from that pool, how many receive the scholarship. I also wanted to know the average profile of the students who receive the scholarship. For instance, what is their avg gpa and SAT/ACT scores.

I don’t know why there are communication difficulties with HR. But I can say that all the services dealing directly with student needs at SCR are top-notch and extremely responsive. I wonder if you’d get a better set of responses putting your question through Admissions or some other student-focused department instead of HR.
