I won’t recommend HILA 7a. I took it freshman year and did not enjoy it. Lectures are really interest but have nothing to do with the exams or the readings. Widener gets off topic all the time and seems like he doesn’t even like class. He would cancel classes on fridays sometimes, forget to bring his laptop, and sometimes he just didn’t show up and the TA’s made us watch movies. There are 3 exams and a final and A LOT of reading. I found it pretty challenging. Take it if you are up for the challenge (or p/np) and you want to have a good story to tell people about your crazy professor.

Check rate my professor.com and look up the individual teachers. All those classes are comparable in difficulty and structure. Look thru the reviews and see which prof is the least annoying, or the most interesting, etc. For these kind of courses the prof is what makes or breaks the class, not the subject material.
