HYS essay's?

I've been looking all over the Harvard website (and others), and I cannot find out how long the essay's have to be for a transfer student. If anyone knows about the length of the essay's for either freshman or transfer (they could be the same, i'll figure it out), that would be awesome. Also, what is the financial aid for transfer students. I'm 16 so I still live with my parents and all, so there is no way I can get $45,000 worth of scholarships...oh yeah, that's another question, what are the full scholarship opportunities, anyone?

Thanks,
Trixee.

Transfering at 16? Wow.

Anyway, on the aid front, if your parents make under $40000, then you get a full ride to Harvard, it's $45k for Yale. These numbers might be off slightly, and there's more that goes into it then just the gross income. If your parents make more than that, you'll have to take out loans just like everyone else.

Depending on your formatting, I'd suggest keeping it to 1-2 pages max. Remember, they're reading a whole lot of applications. Someone else will be able to give you an estimate on the length better.

Really? Does this "full ride" include loans, or do these schools actually pay for your education with no strings attached?

You'd have do some checking. I'm not sure whether the money is no-strings attached, but a bit of digging on their websites will probably tell you.

you asked about essays for freshmen or transfer students... are you in college now? are you applying to colleges as a freshman? i'm just wondering why you're talking about transferring when the impression i got (and i could totally be misinterpreting what you wrote, so please forgive me if that is the case) was that you're not even in college yet.

its 500 words for freshman at H and Y
