Because my school gives exemption for classes in which you have an A- average for the semester.
Which means I normally only have to take 1 to 3 finals for my 7 to 8 classes.
today I only have to take my AP English final, and this is the first day I've come to school this week. =D
What is everybody else's opinion of finals and midterms?

Noone cares.

So then don’t reply to the topic? I didn’t realize we were obligated to tell people when we don’t care about their topic.
Excusez-moi.

What kind of school do you go to? And let me guess–if you have an A- or above homework average you don’t have to take tests?

They do that in my school too. In the remedial classes… lol…

I go to a public school… and no you still have to take regular tests, you can only get exempted from midterms and finals…

And Yank, when would anyone in a remedial class have an A-???

I’d kill for that. We have to take them in every class & the midterms are usually harder than the class itself so they destroy your average!

@bernier93

High-functioning autistics

Then why are they in a remedial class? I mean, I thought remedial class meant “you failed it the first time”… isn’t that different than special education?

^
We don’t have that “remedial” in the sense that if you’ve failed before you have to take the regular class again.

Wow that would have been awesome! I wish my school did that lol. Good luck though :)

Lol, midterms/finals are awesome. The teachers all take pity on their students who study so hard…I sit there relaxing for a week and the tests themselves are a breeze.

I’m always jealous of this. It’s apparently fairly common.

Finals are grade-ruiners.

Thankfully I just finished mine today! Yayy

If we had that in my school, I wouldn’t have to take a single exam.

Just saying.

I usually don’t worry that much about finals…

I mean, finals don’t really affect your grade that much. If you have a solid A, say a 95, you could get a 87 on a final worth 25% of your grade and still get a 93 (A).

For my school, I think the policy is seniors can exempt one final as long as they get a B or higher each marking period & midterm.

Hey, my school does this too. Although, core classes are not counted, so I only get to miss one of the seven finals.

My school used to allow teachers to decide if they were to give midterms or finals at all, but they abolished that policy this year. However, no one cares about or studies for midterms/finals because they don’t count at all on your semester grade, and they are only like 1/9th of your final grade. So basically midterms/finals are a joke at my school.

way to be, way to be

at my school, if you get 95%+ only in regular history and AP USH (but only like 3-6 people in each APUSH class of 30 or so get above 95%)
