I am at _____ Univ & my classes are hard/easy

For those of you in college, if anyone would be willing to give their input...

I took ______ AP/IB Classes in High School

& got _____ (all A's, mostly A's, some A's, B's) w/ a _____ SAT

& my classes at _______ University as a _______ major are

________ (way harder, slightly harder, the same, slightly easiser, way easier)

than my high school classes.

Oh man, I would love to see some posts here, this is some good information that is hard to find if you don't personally ask a college student. When students say it's a "hard college" it is impossible to know whether or not it was hard because it really is hard, or if the kid was a slacker/didn't do the work/didnt' study. And also compared to how well they did in HS.

Yeah I thought there might be some interest in this topic. But the question is, are there any college kids out there willing to answer? =)

I took 12 AP/IB Classes in High School

& got All A's w/ a 1300 SAT

& my classes at the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton) as a Finance major are

a much harder.

I took 5 AP Classes in High School

& got mostly A's w/ a 1290 SAT :(

& my classes at University of Southern California as an English major are

way harder than my high school classes.

if this stays high enough it'll prolly get responses... college forum would also be a good place to put it.

IB Diploma + extra certificate + 2 APs

A's and B's, 1360

classes at William and Mary:
workload: easier (no busy work)... and I don't really study, so maybe that impacts it too.
tests: harder (example: class avg 70 and no curve...)
gpa: significantly lower (avg graduating GPA = 3.0-3.1)

I took 9 AP classes in high school

and got mostly A's (2 B's: in honors geometry and in honors precalculus)

w/ a 1310 SAT, 31 ACT

My classes at the University of Illinois as an Accounting and Finance Major are:

A little harder, not by much though. There's just less room for error on the tests and whatever else you get points for.

Here's a list of my courses so far:

Fall:
Intro to Computing - Excel, Databases, VBA
Critical Reading and Writing in French
Elementary Linear Algebra
Accounting and Accountancy I
Economic Statistics I

Spring:
Calculus II
Intermediate Macroeconomics
Accounting and Accountancy II
Economic Statistics II
Intro to French Literature II
Advanced Compoistion

I took 6 AP class (are school offered 8 and the other 2 were in music and art) and every single honors class offered at my school. I scored 1380 (one time) and a 33 on the ACT (2 times). I got all A's and only B's when I forgot assignments. I realize only now that the only good programs at my school were english and history. Footnote: I also made it into the Chancellor's Scholar program at U of I with only 125 of the 750 applicants out of a class of about 6000 getting in.

With the horrid math and science programs, I am now in the Chemical Engineering program at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign and it is very very hard. The lab class I'm in right now is known as the Rite Of Passage for ChemE's (40 pg lab may be part of it). I am doing alright but first semester I found out that I truly couldn't control my ADHD. (I had always gotten in trouble all through school but I got all As so it slipped by unnoticed). Even with that roadblock and everyone else in my major having gone to a better school I think I did great. I hope to do better this semester though. I would say my classes are way harder but I do have one of the top 3 hardest majors in the school so I guess I would expect it to be.

Not bad at all, bunch of responses at 3AM. I'm posting this at 5AM...procrastinating yet again!!!! ahahha.

I don't recommend procrastinating. I have not gotten more than 4 hours of sleep during a schoolnight of this school year. Too much bumming around. I don't know how I will get out of this bad habbit when i go into college---when the classes really get hard (going to engineering at a tech school, so it should be pretty difficult). Won't be able to BS all my homework in 2 hours and pull off B's on essays written 15 minutes before I have to leave for schoo--without sleeping since 7am the day before. It's funny. I can't concentrate when I have a lot of time, but when I have a little amount of time, I focus and can accomplish a lot.

Oops, kinda went off topic posting random crap like this.

bump... this is interesting. :)

I took 6 AP/IB Classes in High School

& got All As w/ a 31 ACT

& my classes at _McGill University as a _Science major are

__Way Harder than my high school classes.

high school doesn't adequately prepare anyone for college...

most difficult change: writing
second: time-management

the right high school prep program will prepare you very well for college.

I've seen no change in the level of writing expected of me. Other kids have seen a large increase.
