I am looking at the cost for my college (Coastal Carolina in state w/ the cheapest room/board) and it came up to around 22k a year. My EFC is 0 so I am pretty sure I will get a full Pell grant and have to max out Stafford loans but even after that I am around 11k short. I am applying to every scholarship I can find but is there any chance I could actually afford this? I know that my parents will get denied for the parent plus loan which means 4k more in Stafford loans but even then I am still 7k short.

I have not received my financial aid package yet but I am still concerned.

Will you be a Jr? If so, 7,500+4,000+5,730=17,253 - 22k = 4,770

Summer job 3k, plus job during school = 2k covers you.

did the net price calculator say you will pay? Data says they meet about 48 percent of need so maybe you will get a good package. I suppose you might be able to shave a couple thousand off COA by buying used books, keeping personal expenses low–are there cheaper off campus housing available where you can do your own meals and not go on expensive food plan?. Are you working this summer to contribute? You can get a job for 10 to 15 hours during the school year hopefully and that will get you 2k more a year. I don’t understand why you don’t have an aid package yet.

Sometimes transfer students don’t get their packages until July…or even August.

Hienze, are your parents able to help you at all?
