You may add, change, or drop a subject for SAT2 on site. I don’t think they will refund the difference, but they will bill you for the additional cost.

i am going to give to give my sat subject test in june. i am in 12th currently. is it a good choice.

do i have to change it online or can i change it on the exam day when i go to the center for giving my exam

ifyou registered and paid for all three, you can just do the three you want - you let them know on the day of the eam, at the center.

As I said, you can make changes on site at the test center when you are taking the test.

can i change my literature test also

as my literature is weak so i was thinking to not give the literature exam.
do colleges require the literature subject test for admission
colleges like- (duke, caltech, mit, harvard, stanford, vanderbilt, trinity, university of california berkeley, georgia tech,
Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Cornell University, University of Michigan Ann Arbor, MI, University of Texas–Austin (Cockrell) Austin, TX,etc…)

please reply fast

If you don’t take literature, you need to take another Humanities (US or World History, another foreign language such as French or Latin or Spanish…)

Don’t bump until it’s 6am in the US… Remember the time difference!

For engineering most schools require 2 subject tests. One in math and one in sciences (preferably physics or chemistry). They do not require any in humanities. You can find that out on their web sites or common data sets.

From MIT: All students must take two SAT Subject Tests, one each in math and science.
From Caltech: We require all applicants submit official results from the SAT or ACT and 2 SAT Subject Exams, the Math Level 2 and any Science Subject Exam.

If you have access to a prep book (Barrons, Princeton etc) try to take as many tests as possible to practice. Also some of the subjects that your school did not cover might be easy to cover on your own. Give it a try see how it is and then you can retake them the next available date.

Also you are going to TAKE an exam not give. In my own native language we also “give” exams so I understand …

^am: one issue is that ALL tech kids take math2 and a science, so the most selective schools like to see a humanities Subject too. The fact it’s not required doesn’t mean it’s not a good idea to take one and do well. :)

thanks am9799

my os actually i haven’t learned any foreign language and i have studied world history till 10th only and as now i am in 12th so i forgotten almost everything and hence i cannot give the world history exam also.
but i still respect your thought about giving a humanities exam as it would help me in the admission. thanks myos for your helpful reply but i think i would go with am9799.

i am expecting 800 in both math 1 and math 2 and 780-790 in chemistry. are these scores good enough for admission in less selective colleges like- mit, harvard, duke, vanderbilt, etc…
please reply

DON’t take both Math 1 and Math 2. Most schools don’t even recognize Math 1 if you take Math 2 - you’d be wasting a subject test. If you can only take Math 2 and chemistry, so be it, although a humanities subject would be helpful. If you can’t take a humanities/social science test, stick to just Math 2 and Chemistry.

An 800 or a 780-790 is good for any college. And Duke, MIT, Harvard, Vanderbilt, etc… are actually some of the hardest colleges to get into and are by no means less selective ;)

^ He’s trolling you! No one think that Harvard, Duke and MIT are ‘less selective’ institutions.

i got 730 in maths1 720 in maths2 and 720 in chemistry…
i know they are very less from what i expected …
will these marks be enough to get me in a good college or should i retake the exam…
please reply…

are my scores enogh for yale ,duke, cornell, harvard, caltech, georgia institute of tech. ,vanderbilt, mit, university of california or any of the other good colleges please suggest what should i do and if these marks are enough for admission in the above listed colleges … please reply fast

no score is enough for the colleges you list. Scores are only used to cut students, but the other factors are used to select those among those who weren’t cut. You won’t be cut right away but there’s no certainty you will make it past that stage at any of these schools.
Don’t just include reach-for-everyone and reach schools. Include some schools with admission rates above 30%. Understand that for public schools, criteria used to select in-state applicants and out of state applicants are different.
