Here's my situation: I've managed to keep As and Bs the whole year but this last quarter, I really messed up on Trig (along with the rest of the class) and screwed up on my test which meant a lot and missed one assignment. This dropped my grade to the D-F range. I am scared ****less right now. My Anatomy grade is higher than ever, my History grade is also higher than last quarter, my English grade is higher than ever, electives are Bs, it's just TRIG! Am I worrying for nothing or should I start my community college applications now?

Classes are over with and my teacher is a real ***** to talk to. I've asked for a day to make up my quiz (i was absent for half of it) and she stalled me until the end of the year and she didn't even give a ****. For the record, I got a 70 the first quarter (could have been a 100 but again couldnt make up a missed test i could have aced), 92 the 2nd quarter, 93 the third quarter, and whatever i get this quarter.

If you get a C- or above there is a ZERO percent chance of being revoked. The D might be looked at, an F will be surely looked at. My bet is none of them get you revoked at all. You need multiple Ds and Fs, and an overall GPA below a 2.0 to even really be considered for revoking.

My current GPA for 4th quarter is approximately an 83. (Don't feel like converting that to a 3.whatever)

History: 80
Anatomy: 93
English: High 80s
Gym: 90 (forgot my sneakers one day)
Religion: Mid 80s
Spanish: 88
Trig: 60s (hopefully not lower)

I'm gonna call them up tomorrow and ask if I would get revoked. I hope slipper is right. And if he's not right, I hope I at least get a chance to convince them to not revoke me.

Yeah, if they revoked your admission, it'd basically be them telling you that you can't go to college. Do you think your performance in trig warrants you not deserving to go to college?

One D won't get you rescinded - though you might get a call asking to explain. But they wouldn't just dump you - just make sure you don't get a second grade like that.

From the way I see people's post here I figured me taking only AP Calculus AB by the end of Senior year was being behind of the BC usually seen by people posting on these forums.

I guess I am out of touch on what is normal lurking on this board so often.

yea, "normal" on these boards is a 4.30 GPA, 2390 SAT score, 1000 community service hours, and 3 varsity sports. These boards make kids worry waaaaaay too much because it presents like the top 1% of students all in one place and the kids who are say in the top 20% who really shouldn't be worrying that much just really have their self-esteemed shattered.

When I first saw some of the kid's stats on this site I began thinking community college was the most viable option for me. Just have to keep reminding myself that the kids who post on CC do not represent the other 99% of HS students.

yea, i have good stats but i remember seeing others and thinking " I have to beat these kids for scholarships", well it turned out I got almost every scholarship I applied for ... so basically yea, cc is an academic utopia

I take Trig because my school doesn't offer AP classes NOR Calculus. Hell, we don't even have Precalculus. Our school is a ****hole and we're pretty much a few leaps behind all the other schools around. I have the most rigorous schedule you could get in my class and that's just a few honors classes.

Anyway, I'm gonna find out what my Trig grade really is tomorrow, talk to my counselor, then maybe call Rutgers. I hope things go straight. ****, this is really the wrong foot to start stuff...

Myheartisinohio I believe surfing this board everyday just looking will build a much different idea on reality. If you take this board as reality you will be really put down on even applying to community college. On this board 90% of the people are Ivy candidates even if that many don't get in they likely had the stats but the college most likely just didn't have the spots to fit them. I think that might have been why I was puzzled by the topic creators mentioning on Trigonometry.

As to the thread creator the best advice I have is to give the college at least a call that shows concern. If they say anything that sounds remotely bad I think writing a nice letter explaining to them why that happen and that it was a simple mistake on your part but not reflective of your overall personality and desire to succeed will show them you are truly interested in college and you are person of sincerity(makes you look good).

That's a good idea. I'm gonna get to all this after talking to my counselor. The guy doesn't know **** so I'll probably end up doing what you said anyway.

at worst, youll get a letter asking to explain the decline in performance (at my school, many have gotten this letter, but no ones ever been rescinded- i mean , if worst comes to worst explain to them some bogus story about why u dropped in grades)
