I applied early to MIT - what do you honestly think will be the decision?

ohh hmm.. that’s true. well, if it helps any - i live in florida.

and my interview went pretty well i guess.. i’m usually scared to figure out if things went well or not bc i don’t wanna think it was great if it wasn’t or vice versa =\ but he emailed me after saying he thinks my interview highlighted my leadership qualities and blah blah.. he was really nice and everything, it ran pretty smoothly. it was my first interview ever though, so, idk =</p>

any other opinions/comments?

Chill…

wish i could.

i guess you have a 70% chance of getting deferred and 30% of getting in. my … got a 2340 - sat1 and 2400 sat 2. he got deferred. anyways wish you all the best

thanks a lot, i appreciate the input :)

wheres your initiative?..sure u did research but isnt that a common trend amoung the motivated high achiever high school youths of USA…im in canada and about 1 in 2500 students(maybe even more) participate in some form of research…i mean sure you participate alot in school, got good grades and nice scores…i dont see any initiative that shows your a worth contendor of being unique…for me ive started my own volunteering projects since i was 12…thats 3 years now…ive done stuff with what i got and made the best of it…and sure u got a rigourous couseload…i guess me teaching mself 8 APs on my own is not qualified for you getting taught 8 in the school…i have 16 subjects to study for so i donno…8 APS and my 8 courses at school both seperate…on top of that im a boxer and do other stuff…so yah just giving u my opinion maybe we can compare apps…though my hook is i skipped about 2 grades…o well

im applying next year though…good luck…im thinkin postive and say youll have a chance of acceptance or defferal so dont worry…no rejection though

^ That was one of the most self-aggrandizing posts I’ve ever seen on these forums. And a quick point about 16 courses: there’s going to be overlap between the 8 courses you take, and the 8 AP tests you’re supposedly going to self-study this year (it was only 5 a short while ago, according to one of your posts).

wow, i think she was asking for opinions/input on HER application .. not a summary of why you’re better than her, but hey.. i could be wrong..

also - taking 8 AP classes outside of a school where there are no AP classes probably isn’t much to add on to 8 normal classes. and like whiteboy said, obviously you’re not taking 8 COMPLETELY different classes than the ones you’re in.

plus she did say she started key club at her school in 11th grade, that would be initiative if its an active/big club now.

YSP shows initiative .. its not through school and its a very selective, merit-based program for only 40 students in Florida, only 20 girls. It’s not one of those things you pay for to get into, it’s completeley free if you get selected, and I’m assuming that’s where she did her research. Which isn’t exactly something that happens “all the time” in the U.S.

lol wow, i’m not even gonna respond to all the stuff you said.
anyway, thanks whiteboy and study.

definitely not rejected

lol, NHS isnt important enough to list as a principal activity. I never even put it on my MIT app, although one of my teacher’s (advisor of NHS) might have mentioned it.
