My application status says “Ready for Decision” and I applied 10/09/15 and they received my SAT scores on 01/07/16. How can they expect us to wait this long? Some colleges that I have been accepted to want me to decide by next week! I don’t want to have to forfeit my deposit just because the CPP admissions team cannot get their act together. I mean, they have no essays to read since it is purely numbers. Why is it taking so long?
Have you tried calling admissions to see when you can expect a decision? I agree that it should not be taking this long for a decision. Did you apply to an impacted major? From my understanding, impacted majors take longer for a decision and if you are not a local in-service area applicant, your decision takes longer also.
@Gumbymom Thanks for the reply. I applied for Computer Science which I believe is an impacted major and yes I am not from Pomona but I am in-state. I will try to call tomorrow. It’s weird that they haven’t acknowledged their slowness. Most colleges post in their social media when they get behind. Is this normal for CPP?
Unfortunately, yes this has been the norm for CPP for the past several years. Both my son’s applied to impacted majors, but we are local so they received their decisions at the end of January.
My son also applied for CS in early October and hasn’t heard yet. It is the only school that he hasn’t heard from.
@nobelcollegekid I just called the Admissions Office yesterday and the man I spoke with told me that around April 15/16th is the the latest date for them to give out some notice regarding application status.
@collegebound1119 Huh, I called today and the lady told me that they will be admitting people until the end of April.
Still nothing, this school sucks.
They told me rolling admissions til the end of april.
I guess this is normal. Look at this twitter post:
