I'm considering this most contentious and competitive career. I know the big-names do recruit at harvard; does anyone have experience with how often/how well harvard undergrads get internships or offers?

You'll almost always get an interview out of Harvard. It is entirely up to you after that.

Tons of Harvard students get great ibanking internships + job offers every year. However, there's a lot of competition within Harvard, especially for the Goldmans and the McKinseys.

I don't get it. Deustch I hear pays 40k+ for summer internships. Why go for a Goldman summer internship for 10k when you can join Deustch and get paid for overtime? At least your soph-junior summer? Someone told me Deutsch was a second tier bank though, and I thought it was first.

mycorner, where did you hear that Deustch pays 40k+ for a summer internship?
