Do any of you guys suffer from summer depression, as in no matter what you do you will always feel unhappy or unsatisfied? I do. I feel sluggish and bored. All I can do is sit on my porch and stare aimlessly, sort of like a paradise-sucks kind of feeling. It's as if all my problems go away when I become busy, and now that I have nothing to do those problems resurface and I am left to wither away under the sun. I should be enjoying myself, but I just can't.

go out with some friends..even if you do something as pointless as going to a park to lay in the grass or something, at least it keeps you busy. that way, you can wither away under the sun together :) haha

Mmm . . . I did last summer. It was really bad cause all I wanted to do is sleep or read, I didn't want to move. My mom even threatened to take me to a doctor. But this summer is better.
I would just set some goals. Like tomorrow you'll go out for a while, even if your by yourself, just to walk or something. Or you could work on something, I don't know what you do, but I bead. Maybe you could sign up for some kind of class to distract you.

Nope. I love the feeling of having nothing to do.

Go out and play. It feels so good outside.

I felt the same way you did BrightRed when summer first started for me.

Then I realized I had SAT prep, independent studying, and volunteering to do.

Just find things to do to fill up your time, and your summer depression will be gone. Working, volunteering, studying, vacationing, recreating, anything.

I love you're run-on sentences Spaceranger.
You should try to improve your grammar, rather than aimlessly sitting reclusively.

By the way, happiness is pursuited, never achieved in reality.

Try taking up a new hobby over the summer, such as learning a new language or something you didn't have the time for during the school year.

Learning a new language? You really think this depressed-by-no-reason kid has the will to learn a new body of words, and the system that governs it?

foolish peasants.

I've got self studying, SAT prep, and weekly volunteering to keep me busy.

GO TO THE BEACH. Or pool. Any body of water will do.

"Any body of water will do"

May I asked if the water has been purified?

"By the way, happiness is pursuited, never achieved in reality."
The pursuit of happiness . . . that was a good movie.

Why are you so discouraging, ArtOfMind_21?

I tried to kill off my summer depression in one week by constantly surfing websites til 4 am in the morning - it worked for me lol.

Then again after that, I started programming classes, which is competing with CC time D:

Perhaps you should take your medication today.

LOL

dude I suggest you go play some games and then drink some soda, and chill. Relax.

Hypocrite much???? It's "your", not "you're" AND "happiness is pursuited" is not grammatically correct. And finally, "reclusively" is not a word. See that squiggly red line under the word when you write it? Yeah, that means it's spelled wrong.

OP: Get a job! Honestly, you'll actually be happier when you're working and busy than bumming around. Plus, when you get breaks to bum around on, you'll have money to go spend! Take some dance classes and go swimming in the local pool. Research colleges or find what interests you.

"And finally, "reclusively" is not a word."

Reclusively is an adverb of "reclusive".

damn artofmind you nerd LOL.

jk..I don't even know what reclusive means, xD
