Mmhmm that's exactly what I'm writing about! I did one draft, but it really wasn't about me at all. So I have to think of some way of conveying (implicitly lol) what my love for death metal says about ME... that's really gonna be my biggest challenge.</p>

<p>Also, some metalcore is good. Do you listen to Between the Buried and Me? They're kinda hardcore-gone-DM. One of the best bands in the world, IMO.</p>

Lol, I mean, I do have a few other concerts to choose from (Megadeth? But they're not DM...), but part of the point of the essay is the whole point of, you know, "This is really aggressive stuff BUT I'M NOT A VIOLENT PERSON AND I ENJOY IT." So I need SOME shock value, ya know? "Shock value" was a poor choice of words -- I mean, I need something that would strike the reader as scary at first, but that I can elaborate upon to sorta dispel stereotypes and what not.</p>

<p>Okay, you just have to ensure you don't convey an image beyond what your words can dispel. If you can strike the fine line between effectively shocking them and appearing sociopathic, you are golden.</p>

<p>Yeah, if it were me, I would write about how I got into metal and how the circumstances of my life affected why I took such a liking to it. That's just for me though, it might be more boring for you...but it usually takes something for nerds like us to get into metal :P</p>

<p>And yeah I responded to you about this in the favorite bands thread but I love BTBAM...Colors is probably one of my top ten favorite albums ever. You should check out "Fortress" by Protest the Hero if you don't know them already.</p>

<p>yeah, poseur.. you impress me. i'd say you have a very good chance, especially because your personality (or at least, what i can tell of it from thread posts) seems fun and easy-going. your essay choice will definitely be memorable and the fact that you seem to really like death metal will help make you stand out (even though i'll admit i was a little alarmed when i read those lines about violent thrusts and dissecting guts). i'm sure you will be a great addition to the brown community if you get in, so good luck! and hopefully i'll see you there :)</p>

<p>Well, from what I see from your stats, you look fantastic, BUT Brown has a tendency of picking kids who socially get along well. I have not yet seen one thing in this that has shown your personality, which must shine through your essay and your teacher recs. That's the only thing I can tell you. No person here can tell u a flat out accurate answer without your essays and teacher recs... GOOD LUCK!!!!</p>
