I love you guys...

hey gavroche, I'm new here, and I've just been looking around, and keep seeing your posts. How do you travel around the world by yourself? I travel a lot too but probably not extensive as you. Does your dad fly a plane or something. I fly free because I'm a registered guest with a major airlines. Where have you been to?

No, I go a lot on my own just to travel/volunteer solo. I've been to Southeast Asia, South America (Brazil and Chile) and throughout Europe and New Zealand on my own, spending about a month in each country. I'm about to go back to Europe to travel and volunteer in a few weeks (for four months). I have various ways that I make it affordable.

Wow! Where in Southeast Asia have you been? Do you work/volunteer through organizations? When did you start doing this and how many times a year do you go traveling? I'm curious to find another who has traveled while homeschooling as well. I haven't been to Europe except for Britain, but I've been able to travel around the country, Canada, and Mexico quite a lot. This summer I'm going to the Philippines (where I was born) w/ my family, and then Guam (where my childhood was spent before I moved to CA in 3rd grade), and then my mum told that I can go to New Zealand and Australia. It's a wonder that I've never been to NZ and Australia before when I lived in place so close to it, well, closer to it than CA. And I'll probably stop by Hawaii on my way home and visit family. In the fall, hopefully, I'll be able to go visit France if I've saved up enough money and if my parents are willing to give me some too. I've been kind of fortunate as to have family spread out around the world and have that as an excuse for my parents to send to so and so. But that doesn't mean I didn't have to earn my keep. What did you do to make your travel affordable?

I would love to travel all around the world for my entire life. So far I have only been to four countries aside from USA: Peru, Bolivia, China, and Japan.
