I didn't hand in my Art Supplement on time!!!

Hi. I’m a student trying to major in history and east asian studies etc.

I applied to Harvard, Princeton, UPenn, Dartmouth saying that I was gonna submit an art supplement on common app.

I never found out when the deadline for art supplement was, however, until recently, when I found that I was way past the date for submitting my supplement!

Will this greatly reduce my chance of getting accepted into the above schools?

My art supplement was gonna be a video on my works related to history like personal researches and internships and stuff.

Thank you

That does not sound like an art supplement to me.

^ Above is true

The art supplement would actually be art (not saying video isn’t). Like a photo gallery, music sample, etc. A video documenting your achievements in another subject isn’t the art that the supplement is looking for. Probably won’t affect you too much, but emailing admissions and saying you won’t submit anything wouldn’t hurt.

I would let them know that you will not be submitting an art supplement (usually only necessary for prospective art majors), so that this doesn’t hold up your application. They may think your application is incomplete, pending receipt of the supplement. And a video on your achievements in history, etc…is not the same thing as an art supplement, as others have pointed out.
