I will be confused for weeks!

I think it will take us a while to become comfortable with the new format. There’s a thread in the Parent Café where you can comment and make suggestions.

But there’s a like button!!! OH and a “helpful” button that I just noticed.

How can we tell when there are new posts with this new format? Also, any way to get to last unread.

On the laptop, it looks like there are little notes at the end of the title of the thread–“1 new”. Also the title of the thread is in bold. Right now, though, all of the thread titles are bold…

I may not be able to figure out the new format until after the whole process is over.

I miss my “little yellow dots” at the top of the page by the schools…I also can’t change my picture. It doesn’t seem to like anything I try to upload. I wanted a picture of my Kitty! However, I am loving the “like” button!

I miss the yellow dots too. I’m using an iPad while we’re away and I’m none too swift on that gadget as it is. I’ll wait to change my picture until I get home.

Is there any way to tell if there are new posts under each school? I’m very confused, and doing this on my phone is so far almost impossible…

If you click on the yellow star that bookmarks the posts you are most interested in. Then when someone posts in there you get a notification like FB at the very top of the screen where the little world, envelope and star etc are. I tried to change my avatar and the pic I was trying to use was too big. That may be why you couldn’t upload yours.

I do just fine with change and am often excited about advances, but this format is terrible for me so far. I access the site almost exclusively from my iPhone, so maybe these issues are exclusive to phone usage, but there is no list of schools at the top, it seems I’m forced to use the phone format instead of the traditional format, I can’t see what I’m writing in a few of these lines because of a grey bar across my screen, the super helpful yellow dots are gone, and I have to scroll to the bottom of each page and click on the arrow to go to the next page. There is not any indication (that I can see) of how many pages are in each thread, and I must scroll through each page. Some threads have too many pages for this, and I won’t keep wasting time scrolling like this!

Like I said, I’m an adaptable person, and I don’t complain much at all, but, if this is truly the new format, I won’t be on nearly as much anymore. That’s sad; this is such an informative site for MT!

Did things change? I guess it pays to be getting older and forgetting what I had for breakfast…

I do like that we can now “like” posts, like the one above! :)

Is anyone else having any issue opening some of the individual school forums at the top of the page?

Not only are the super helpful little yellow dots gone, but it used to be that if you just clicked on Musical Theatre Schools at the top, you would get the list of all the schools and next to each one it would tell you when the last update was done. That way you could just figure out when the last time you were on was and just look for things after that. Now all you get is the list with the number of threads and responses in each. Unless you keep track of how many threads/responses there were for each school last time you looked, there is really no way to tell on this page either what schools have had updates. Super Annoying! But I do like the Like button!! I haven’t even tried looking at the new format on my phone - it sounds like it isn’t going to be pretty…

@alwaysamom, I can’t open Tisch. I wonder if it is because it has 4 x the content to load but it isn’t working.

I do like that for the first time ever since I’ve been reading CC, I see the actual correct time for my time zone. It was never right for me no matter how many times I tried to set it to PST.

Glad this new format didn’t start last year -it might have thrown me over the edge, especially right before Unifieds. Lol

Yeah, the timing is bad. They should have waited until this year’s applicants are done…or not done it at all. Yeah, that.

Of course, CC is not all about the theatre folks. We are but a cog on the bigger wheel.

Second place to the engineering majors…with all the other listed majors lagging pretty far behind, at least according to the numbers listed under majors. My hope is there that will be some tweaking happening soon. It’s all about hits and the new format is too just too unfriendly for browsing between schools and topic posts.
