I just wanted to get an opinion from some of you. I go to Carnegie Mellon University (Im in Tepper if you have seen on my previous posts)...I have lived in Pittsburgh my whole life so obviously CMU has a good reputation around here (it also has a reputation of being very hard)....I just wanted to see what you guys think about CMU's reputation (will coming from CMU look as good as coming from Cornell or another IVY)...I did well first semester, but this semester is close to impossible for me and I'll struggle to get a 3.2 (which bc of my first semester would leave me at around a 3.4 or 3.5 for my freshman year)....Obviously the talk was Georgetown, but any top 15 law school would do....

Go to lawschoolnumbers to see how well someone with your GPA might do. A GPA of 3.4 is a little low though, although it is probably good enough for a school ranked 10-15 like GTown, but only if your LSAT is 172 or higher. I am not familiar with Carnegie Mellon--ask your prelaw advisor if the school has any grade inflation or not.

3.4 is generally way too low for a t-14 school unless your LSAT is really high.
and good news for you (also a bad news) that schools generally give very little consideration for what undergrad you came from. don't care if it's princeton or rutgers, don't care if you're a studio arts major (avg gpa 3.7) or a CS major from CMU
