Im a going to transfer to a university this semester. on of my classes im taking OPRE 3360 - Managerial Methods in Decision Making Under Uncertainty. I know for certain we will be using excel. We never used excel in any of my classes for cc. I used excel before in high school, but dont remember much. I know its not hard to learn.Any suggestions
There are probably tutorials online, either through Microsoft or other tech companies, that will teach you the basics and maybe even more specialized things. Just google “excel beginner tutorial” and see what you find.
I would send an email to the professor asking about how much Excel he/she will be expecting that you should know. Excel is not very hard to learn the basics of.
Pick up a book Excel for dummies, it will teach you a few things.
Play with it. It’s really not hard to become proficient with Excel at all. Pick up a manual if you feel the need. But one of the reasons why Bill Gates is a billionaire is that his company created software that is pretty much self-evident to anyone who needs or wants to use it.
It’s not self evident there are a few tricks to make your life easier. Plus there are tons of stuff even engineers like my husband use them that can be quite complicate.

Depending on what you’re trying to do, Excel isn’t complicated. There are certain things that can get really complicated in Excel, but the standard functions are pretty simple. Spend a little time playing around with it. Try to create a couple of charts with some random data, play around with chart options and things like that. Google is your friend. There are a ton of tutorials online for using Excel.
