I Don't Know what I Want to Major In! (any suggestions?)

I see a lot of people on CC who have known what they wanted to be right from the start. I'm a rising Junior and I have no idea right now. I used to think I wanted to be a doctor but I've come to the realization that a health profession is just not for me. I'm more English/History oriented than Science/Math oriented. Growing up poor has really made me conscious of the future. I think one of the reasons why I was bent on being a doctor was the high salary. I know now that that is not the way to find a good profession.

So, do any of you have suggestions on majors/jobs that are english/history related. Because right now I'm looking at colleges and I can't really decide which are right for me if I have no idea what majors I'm looking for.

thanks

Majors: English, History, Anthropology, International Relations/Affairs/Studies, (Region) Studies, Philosophy

Jobs: Professor, anthropologist, writer, policymaker

I’m fairly certain that this indicates that the OP does not want to pursue something just for the money.

No, I believe you’re thinking of a baker, not a lawyer.

And have trouble landing a job

You don’t absolutely have to know what you want to major in when you apply to college. I know most of the people on CC have their whole lives planned out, but the majority of high schoolers have absolutely no clue what they want to do. I’m a senior, and I’m applying undecided to all of the colleges I want to go to. I have a couple of things I’m interested in, but I’ll give myself a semester or two doing general ed requirements while I figure things out.

^^^For some reason, that made me laugh.

Then I have succeeded.

Make sure you major in something useful, like Art History, African American Studies, Women’s Studies, etc.

Art History… lol. Our “Coach”(More like Team Mom) For robotics majored in Art History.

^^Lol.

How about Religious Studies? I think I will double major in RS and Physics.

^I don’t know what job I could get with a major in Religious Studies.
^^^the same with Art History, African American Studies, and Woman Studies.

My major doesn’t have to be limited to English/History majors, either. I can handle Science and Math just well (B average), I’m just not exceptional at either subject.

The most fruitful major is folklore

Nah dude double major in japanese studies and film making. gold mine right there

The best major is philosophy, do you know how many jobs you can land.

Folklore, Japanese studies/Film Making, and Philosophy. Yeah, I’m sure those majors can bring in tons of money. :(

Anyways, anymore suggestions?

I hear male nurses are needed all over the country to boost both male and female doctors’ ego

Wouldn’t it feel great to work under male or female doctors how make over triple your salary?
