I don't understand something about Financial Aid?

Just an aside to those who may question the quality of SUNY schools. As a New Yorker, many, if not most, of the most successful people I know went to SUNY schools. They are doctors, lawyers, investment bankers, actuaries, engineers, accountants, professors, business owners, and more. Some started great careers right out of college, some went to the top grad schools in the country. New York is still the second largest state, and has many of the best public schools systems in the country. NY has tens of thousands of outstanding high school grads every year who are worthy of the best colleges anywhere, but attend a SUNY due to cost. They still end up highly successful in whatever they choose to do.

Have you applied for any merit aid? Honors? The Honors low income students usually get much better aid.

Natantan, You better start getting your paperwork in ASAP. The money goes fast and often to those first in line. If there are any separate apps out there, you need to have them in there. Hopefully, you have sent in your actual school applications by now.

AND then get your FAFSA done ASAP after January 1. There are some federal funds that are limited by campus…federal work study, and Perkins loans, and SEOG (if the school has it). They are awarded on a first come first served basis.
