I failed my road test...twice

^^ Yay! A Virginian. I’m waiting to get my REAL license soon. I’m sick of the provisional.

I wish I lived in Virginia…

Wow, you ALL have it so hard! I didn’t know how nice my state was to us…

We drive for 6 hours with an instructor for our drivers ed, and he rates us S, N, or F. His grades don’t count for anything, just to show us what we need to focus on.

After that, we have to drive with our parents/guardian or someone for 20 hours and fill it out on a log. There is NO driving test, we just go in and get it!

OP - that really sucks and I’m sorry. Try to take it easy, and relax more the next time you take it. You sound like a good driver so I’m sure you’ll pass it eventually :D

@CIA- I’m a Virginian too if you couldn’t tell. xD Yeah, my Driver’s Ed teacher would have us go get the mail from the post office and one day we went to his house…because he forgot his sunglasses. xD

Oh my god, my judge rambled on forever. The actual proceedings took like…15 minutes…he spent an hour telling us accident and drunk driving stories. >>

I’ve actually had my license for a year since May 30th. ^-^

OP are you by chance an asian woman? cuz then things would make a lot of sense

^ Wow, racist much?

And no, fyi, i’m not.

<– earliest opportunity to get his license: feb of this year. How is he now? yet to drive his first behind the wheel lesson…

I failed the first 2 times and passed the third. That seems to happen to a lot of people though, so you’ll probably have luck next time.

And wth, how do you fail for parking wrong at the end? That would really **** me off.

Here in Maryland, you have to take driver’s ed and get your permit (you have to take a written test and get an attendance form signed by your school). Then you have to do 6 hours of behind the wheel with driver’s ed and 60 hours with your parents. Six months after you get your permit, you can take the driving test. After that, you get a provisional license. When you turn 18 (or 17 and 9 months if you got your license right on time), your “Cinderella” license expires and you can get a full license.

I can NOT believe you people can DRIVE without taking a test!

That’s crazy and dangerous and insane. o.O

SC may have young drivers… but at least here our 15 and 16 year olds have taken driver’s ed AND had a test given. (A test that many fail).

Seriously… y’all are lucky… but crazy.

I mean… here… you can get your permit at 15. If you take 14 hours of driver’s ed, you can get your restricted 6 months later. But in order to do this… you have to take a road test at the DMV. After a year of your restricted or you turn 17 (which ever comes first) you get your full license.

Just go to driving school. They teach you, and give you all the paperwork to go to the MVD so that you won’t have to do the road test. Our school doesn’t have driver’s ed. None of the schools do.

GA sucks. Pass the written test, driver’s ed class, complete 40 hours of driving, 9 of which have to ben in the night (or something like that), finish ADAP course. ****.

^ that’s horrible. all we have to do is pass the written test at 15, at least 6 hours of driving and like at night 2 hours (something like that), then pass the road test

SAC, I feel your pain because I failed my driving test twice in Vermont, for doing exactly the same things you did, (very strange.) It was really frustrating for me, and I just kept replaying it in my mind, which made even more upset, but you’ll get through it, and the third test goes nicely.

wow i feel like an idiot as well…failed drive test twice…
hate CA…
how do u guys get a license without a test?!!?!

kansas - 40 day hours, 10 night hours. driving test or pass driver’s ed.

Basically what ■■■■■■■■ said for where I live. I don’t have to take the 40 hour class since I’m getting my driver’s license after 16. Yay me!

I feel for you guys that have to keep a parent driving log. That sounds like no fun. For the people with no tests, you guys must have a lot of car accidents. LOL

Me too… I just failed my second time yesterday, I hit the barricade during parallel parking – first time I’ve EVER done that… sucks.

One more chance before school starts! >.>

you probably did a lot of other things wrong. the testers won’t fail you because of an insignificant mistake like that.
