I applied to one safety, and I got in, but the rest of my schools are high matches to reaches. Nothing really in between the safety and reaches- I wouldn't want to go into debt to go to a place that's only slightly better than my safety. Lucky for me, my safety is really really well-known for my career and once I graduate I'd probably get a job anywhere... I just want to go further away (it's five minutes away from my house).

Wow, that's the exact same situation I'm in! Only, I got a call from one of my schools that was a match and I don't know whether to call it a "likely" call or not, but they said I was one of their strongest applicants.

Haha my safety was a Canadian school, a very good one, but I still would feel super frustrated if I ended up there just because I put so much effort into this whole US application process.

Wellesley EE decisions in a day and a half, ACK.

Anyways, HOPEFULLY when April rolls around, we all get into at least one school we REALLY like.

I start hearing back in March up until April. =/ I won't like either month. Then in May come AP exams.

I got into a few state schools, but for the schools that I REALLY want to go to, it's really a crapshoot. I've known that from the beginning. Hopefully I'll be surprised come March/April.

Yeah, I feel I tried to aim too high. =/ But maybe a nice surprise will come in the mail.

I can't believe that right after posting here, I got a likely letter from Rice! I (likely) got into college!

Omg congratulations d4r7h3v1l! =) Thats amazing.

Thanks. I was so surprised!

Don't give up the faith My D applied to 6 schools 2r's 2m's &2s's My frusration grew with each rejection letter Needless to say my D was crushed but everything has a way of working itself out

Oh yeah her GPA3.5 SAT 1820 , Internship w/state assemblyman b-ball 10-11th grade plenty EC's

d4r - Congrats on Rice! I was going to apply there until I realized it's too much of a reach school.

I'm in the same situation... I feel ya :/

March is coming up. We'll know soon enough.

I feel like this entire thread is just a huge echo of every thought that runs through my head at night. I've gotten in to one academic/financial safety, and who knows, maybe I'd be happy there too, but I just really don't want to have to find out.

Oh and by the way, add one more to the list of young women frantically counting down the hours to Wellesley EE. I love (read: hate/am driven crazy by) how we all have our hopes placed on this one online decision.

Mine is a safety because of the financial stuff and I don't want to find out either if I'll be happy there. =/ I'd like to get into one of my top four schools.

Sigh, I know what you mean. How frustrating is the entire USC thing, by the way? I'm about ready to scream.

I got the USC letter that I wouldn't be getting one of the large scholarships, but the still haven't made up their mind about admission. =/

I just got that letter yesterday. Talk about a blow to the ego.

I am a nervous mess too. I feel so under qualified to all the schools I applied after finding out the stats of others on CC who applied.
