I got in!

Hurray!

With my horrible stats and lacking ECs, I got accepted to Rutgers New Brunswick AND Newark! I still can't believe it.

My GPA was 3.3, and my SAT was 1780 (1190 w/o Writing) and I had only a handful of ECs. Also, my essay was nothing special.

A friend of mine who applied got accepted to the Newark campus and he had a higher GPA than mine (3.5-3.6) but a lower SAT score (1060 w/o Writing). He said his essay was crap, though. I guess essays do matter a lot.

New Brunswick: Rutgers College got itself a new Bio major. :D

Congradulation funkdoc. Well done!

Thanks dude!

All I can say is...don't wait to apply! You don't want all the spots filled before the adcoms have a chance to look over your app.

Congrats funkdoc!! Hey we'll be classmates. :)

Lookin' forward to it. ;)

Funkdoc man I love you in a friendly way. Everyone was worring me about the fact that I would get rejected by Rutgers becuase my GPA is like a 3.8 and everyone else (ie my friends) have GPAs of 4.0+.

Pffft what do they know. 3.8 is more than enough as far as I'm concerned.

Anyways Congrats and maybe see you in two years.(Still a Juinor in High school)

Congrats!

Essay's don't count.

You sure, Polo?

Yes, because I know an admissions officer. The only two things that count for entrance is the GPA and SAT. Rutgers generates an index score based on those two things and NOTHING else. It's a state school so they want to make admissions as number oriented as possible to avoid controversy.
