I am not international, I live in upstate new york.

hot damn, im waiting for the mail man

as you can see, this deadline has caused quite an insanity

NYU please admit me.

haha so all this waiting has really got to me, but congrats man. hopefully ill see you there next year!!! good luck to all

Congratulations, I was wondering if the acceptance came with the normal mail, or my ups truck? Thanks

omkg congrats!!! i can’t wait to find out! hopefully i’ll be on the same boat as you! i’m also from ny (long island) so maybe i’ll find out like tomorrow?? AHHHH!

I don’t see how only ONE person has found out…

Congratulations Ali M - whoops, can’t say your last name … has anyone else from our class/high school gotten in? :)

hey nuclearpakistan what was your stats, cause if you got into nyu you must amazing and great essay by the way.

funnypunjabi, NP got a 2180 on the SATs, 32 on the ACT, and had 4 AP’s by the end of his junior year (I don’t know all the exact grades). He also took a rigorous HS course load (I was in many classes of similar difficulty). His HS GPA was ~88 to 90.

wow he is amazing, thanks DMOC, any tips getting a good act score, taking this sat???

Well I can’t speak for NP completely but I do know he used Rocket Review and the Blue Book. This is exactly what I did too, and I have a 2160 but my writing and CR scores were about 40 points lower than they were during my practices so I’m retaking them in January.

Congratulations again to NP. :)

^ haha thanks Dan, I am so glad we have a snow day today lol.

funnypunjabi- Dude, it is so easy, just click my name, go to my “threads” and I have made over 10 “chance me” threads.

nuclear, can you describe the envelope you received in the mail in great detail? i need to prepare myself!

^ haha you know how many people have asked me these types of questions as though they feel like it matters? Let me tell everyone who reads this specific thread something:

You’re either going to get accepted, or you’re going to get rejected early decision.

If you get accepted, life moves on. If you get rejected, life will move on without you. Don’t live in the past.

Well… that’s a bit hypocritical, no?

im still wondering why you’re the only one who has already heard back…

no one else has posted about getting in Early Decision without being LSP’d

i’ve heard of LSP and international students… but after you didnt tell us what the packet looked like im a tad skeptical

tell us what was in the packet and what it said then

we’re not pressing for you to reveal everything, we just want to know the truth

its strange for us to believe you got an acceptance letter on the 7th of december, considering only LSP students have heard back

lol guys, im sure he didnt lie, although the fact that he’s in now and talks as if he’s never been in our nervous shoes is annoying but im sure no one would lie about something like this.

so lets not get hostile on each other, if he doesnt wanna tell or help us out then it’s okay, we may very well find out soon.

yeah, let’s tone down the conspiracies here.

i’m pretty sure i posted what the acceptance packet looks like in another thread.

but here. . .

it’s a gigantic white envelope with nothing on the front except the return address for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

inside there’s a folder and it says “CONGRATULATIONS! We hope you will join us in Greenwich Village. . .” blah blah blah. When you open it, there’s a letter inside that says more formally that you’re accepted. I’m pretty sure the folder is something like olive green and purple. Don’t quote me on the colors- I don’t have the packet here at my dorm.

I don’t know what else is in the packet. It’s different for transfers. We get credit statements and whatnot.

The REJECTION is a thin envelope with a letter inside. That’s it.

NP also lives in Jersey (I think?), which is super close to NY.

I know everyone is nervous (I’ve been on that roller coaster, being rejected ED and then accepted as a transfer) but let’s not all turn on each other. NP was probably just expressing exasperation at the sheer number of questions he got at once.

lol yea, we’re supposed to be supportive of people who get in especially because we might very well all end up going to the same college hahaha
okay, i’m READY FOR THIS.

missamericanpie, did you originally apply to steinhardt when you applied ed? and then again to steinhardt as a transfer? thanks for describing the envelope twice, btw. i didn’t see your post in that other thread until just now. :)
