<p>Hi, I am currently a grade 11 student studying in canada, but will be applying early action(because I have tri-citizenship) to Caltech for class of 2013 and had a few questions to ask:</p>
<p>1) Does having many awards have a major effect on getting into JHU?(because we do not have the awards you can only get in USA, and my School District is limited on educational awards) So far I only have honours but not actual awards related to sciences and stuff.</p>
<p>2) This is just a general question on course load in grade 12- Should i take a spare or fill up all 8 courses? I will be taking: AP advanced functions, AP calculus, AP biology, Chemistry, AP English, Immersion French, and PAL(help teaching grade 11 physics)-should i fill up the spare with another course or just have 7 courses?</p>
<p>3) I am worried about the idea of AP courses in grade 11. My school only offers AP courses in grade 12, and so I cannot take any AP courses this year... will this limit my chances in getting into Caltech? because I have seen many candidates that are applying that have at least 3 APs and I am thinking i might need to self-study at least 2 or 3 APs for this year so i can look good for EA admissions.</p>
<p>Advice would be nice helping an american citizen studying in canada.</p>
