So, my brain works in a rather odd way. I am absolutely terrible at rote memorization, which is why I can't get a good score on the History, Biology, and Chemistry SAT IIs to save my life. It took me double the effort to do well in my biology/history/social science classes than it did for me in a subject like math. On the other hand, my memory becomes almost savant-like when it comes to foreign languages and music. It seems that I'm better at remembering things that are based on sound, and prefer to understand how things work (which is why math and physics appeal so much to me). On the APUSH test (just to provide an example), I did very well on the FRQ portion but blanked out on many of the MCs.

I'm not sure what to make of this. Will my inability to memorize extensive facts work against me in college? For the record, I'm definitely not planning on majoring in the life or social sciences.
